Coach Matzke
John Matzke, Head Coach of Tampa's Jesuit High School, the 2010 West Florida Lacrosse League Champions, brings to the TBLA both College Coaching experience along with collegiate playing experience.
John began his Coaching experience in New Jersey after a successful playing career at the University of South Florida in which he earned All Conference and Team Captain honors.
He was the Assistant Men's Coach for Florida State University for the 2005-2006 season when he was tabbed the Head Coach/Executive Director for the University of South Florida Lacrosse Program. During his time at USF John helped build the lacrosse profile of the program while increasing the graduation rates of the team and emphasizing the student commitment to the University through competitive sports participation.
One of the most exciting attributes John has is his experience at the college level. He has worked extensively with the student athlete on their commitment to excellence as an athlete but more importantly as a student.
John coached his Jesuit program to the State IA finals 2 years consecutively with both years ending in tough decisions to Benjamin School.
John has also held positions coaching Team Florida, and now with team Tampa
